Trip Report Endless Summer, Silver Sands- and it keeps getting better & better!

Where do I begin????

Six of us spent the last week in September at Endless Summer (http://www.mysilversands.com/viewvilla.aspx?bklk=Nw==&subnav=silversands). My husband & I, with another couple from our area, flew to Atlanta where we met my cousin & his wife. The six of us continued on to Jamaica together. After making it through Customs, we walked outside and were greeted by our "Mysilfersands" Representative, Taneshia. Seeing Taneshia was really very special! She was our Rep during our last tvist, so we were able to ‘catch-up’ on how she had been doing since then.

Cedric was our driver to Silver Sands. His van was roomy and air-conditioned. He was friendly and made the approximately 40 minute ride comfortable. When we asked, he was happy to stop by the Montego Bay Harley Shop for us on the way. Cedric & his service is highly recommended.

How do you REALLY describe a week in Paradise? To start: this was mine & my husband's third trip to Silver Sands - We stayed at the Orchid House and Blue Vista Villa at Silver Sands and those trips were fabulous. Therefore, we had a good idea of what to expect. You can see those trip reports (with photos) on mysilversands.com, Fodor and Tripadvisor.! Jill, Doug, Terry & OJ. were newbie’s! They LOVED IT and cannot wait to return.

The house was just as described. There is a KILLER view from the living room/dining room and the upper decks! The staff couldn't have been any better. They were warm, friendly and helpful. Ms Una (the day cook) fixed scrumptious breakfasts and helped us to plan our meals & watch our spending. Having here there was another plus for us, as she had been our day cook for our first trip to the Orchid House several years before! The season for Ackee was nearly over. Ms Una had a tree in her yard so brought some in one morning for the others to try. It was a new way for us - made with bacon, onions & peppers and was delicious!!

Scottie was our evening chef and was fabulous - Jerk pork & chicken, a tasty-spicy brown chicken, sheperd's pie, grilled lobster tails.... salads, fresh vegetables. Dinner was surved buffet style. One of our 'traditions' became taking photos of dinner's layout on the buffet table before we started. Scottie's sauces with dinner were amazing... therefore, Scottie was dubbed "The Saucier" - His smile was infectious and meals are missed!!

We ate (and drank) like Queens and Kings! A "Big Up" goes to Christopher, who stayed at the villa 24/7 to assist us with anything we needed - and believe me, we ALWAYS seemed have a question or need help with something!

He helped with breakfast AND dinner... and had our coffee ready every morning! He was such a help with so many other things like.... how to turn TV on, operating instructions for the air-conditioning and info for the hot tub. Which switch for the ceiling fan? AND a VERY BIG "thank you" for closing the windows and locking the doors for us at night.... etc. One night, he hooked us up with a cable for the laptop to connect wth the TV in the living room.... so we could play "You Tube Karaoke." He kept our Rum Punch pitcher and ice bucket filled at all times! Chrisophter went above & beyond!

Ms Annette and Karene (I know I have spelled it wrong!) were as sweet as they could be . They kept the house spotless and our laundry washed daily. Ms Annette cooked breakfast one morning and dinner one evening for Ms Una & Scottie's days off. Her meals were delicious!

The pool isn't large but really, just the right size to cool off. There is a hot tub to sit and relax in. It's not what you would call hot by NE Ohio standards (This is not to be a negative. Obviously, it's much cooler here, so before we get in at home, we REALLY have to rev up the temperature!), but was inviting & relaxing. We spent a lot of our time hanging out around the pool in the early morings and late afternoon before dinner. The upstairs deck off the master bedroom is a great place to sit and have coffee in the morning. In fact, our first morning there, we ALL had our coffee on the upstairs deck.

Again... the view is spectacular! Because of the height of the house, you can see across the wall into Fisherman's Beach. Every morning and evening we watched the fishermen go in and out. Highlights were watching & photographing the large freighters and cruise ships that passed by.

Days were spent at the Silver Sands swimming beach, visiting next door at Fisherman's beach and just relaxing! One morning the six of us went rafting on the Martha Brae River. On another, Jill, Doug, OJ & Terry had Errol take them our snorkeling. (My husband had gone on both trips before & decided to have our alone time & let the others do their thing!)

Overall, it was a fantastic trip! Endless Summer's location just can't be beat, the house is beautiful and the view amazing!! The walk to the swimming beach with the life guards is fairly flat and takes about five minutes. The staff are some of the very best you'll find anywhere. They LOVE to take care of you and enjoy seeing you enjoy yourself! You can't eat any better at a 5 star restaurant!! They are one in a million! The Jamaican people, as a whole, are friendly, helpful, and kind. We enjoyed getting to know them as much as the tropical island they call home.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and we had to return home. A welcome sight for our return trip to the airport, was Cedric our driver who brought us to Paradise! He helped load & unload our luggage and dropped us off at just the right spot!

Will we return???? ABSOLUTELY!

Questions?? I'll be more than happy to answer!!
