My husband and I are considering a vacation to St. Barts and would like to know about the island and about the Eden Rock Hotel. Any information you could give would be appreciated. Also, what is the best way to get to St. Barts - plane or ferry?
Eden Rock Hotel in St. Barts - anyone been there?

Sarah,
My wife and I have visited over 30 different islands in the carribean and St. Barts is our favourite. Fabulous restaurants and beaches (Saline is the best). We have been to the island 3 times in the last 3 years and have always stayed in a private villa which are easy to rent. We have eaten at Eden Roc and seen one of the rooms and it is fantastic on both counts. Very small and perfectly located on a point between two beaches. As far as travelling to the island we have always flown. Have fun if you go and make sure to have a drink at sunset at th Carl Gustaf Hotel.
We have been to StBarts 4 times and stayed at Le Toiny. I highly recommend it. Very private with your own private pool. Breakfast is served poolside. Eden Rock is great too but right in the busiest part of St Barts. We eat lunch on the beach there. You will need a car (jeep) so in a sense it doesn't matter where you stay. I agree Saline (and Gouverneur) are the best beaches. The restaurants are fabulous. You can't get a bad meal on St Barts.
By all means fly. It's a 10 min hop from St Martin and a real "exlperience".
If you need any more info, e=mail me.

WOW I think I know where I want to go!
Been to numerous islands. St. Barts is one of my favorite places in the world.Don't know much about Eden Roc. Stayed at Francois Plantation. It was great but not right on the beach. Villa rental might be the way to go. Can't get a bad meal on the island - its true.!. Be sure to eat at Mayas.
Have a ball. I am jealous!
