Dunn's River Falls.

How far is Dunn's River Falls from Montego Bay? Can you book an excursion from Mobay to Dunns River.

Hi Meinrad
make sure you take a pair of beach shoes or wear running shoes to wear while climbing the falls. You will find it a lot easier to climb with them on. Don't worry about the bus ride from Mobay to the falls. You get to see some great sites along the way and is quite enjoyable.
Al

Hi there, Al is right... the bus ride will be great. WE took the all day excursion when we stayed at Sandals Mobay. It was about a 3 hour bus ride as I recall and the bus stopped at a shopping centre and then at a market (we didn't go into the market as we had a market experience the day before). We opted to sit on the curb by the bus and enjoy a couple of Redstripes that were being sold on the curb for $1.00 US. The bus driver was great. When we shopped at duty free shops and there were vendors on the streets he told us of what the best buys were and what not to buy, i.e: the people just wanted to rip off the tourists. Everywhere we drove the bus drive would talk about local econony, schools, showed us the "rich" houses on Mobay, etc. He has drove by an abandonned drug plan on the side of the road. We stopped at Sandal Ocho for lunch then proceeded to the falls. The Dunns River Falls was one of the best times we had in Jamaica. It was totally excillerating!!! As for the little water shoes or whatever they are called you can rent them right at the falls. If I remember right they were about $5.00 US for each person.

Have the guide take lots of pictures as it will be a time you will want to remember.

Oh yes, when we were done and heading to the bus there were vendors with coolers of Redstripe waiting by the bus eager to sell you a ice cool refreshment... very nice!!!

Enjoy.

Lori

We stayed at Dunn's River last year and the bus ride from the airport at Mo-Bay to Dunn's River was 1.5 hours with a short stop in between.
