Dominican Republic - Cigar Lover

I am going to the DR at the end of May. I love Dominican Cigars and want to tour some farms and see the process. Which would be better for this, Puerta Plata or La Ramona?

Puerto Plata is closer to the main cigar-making areas of the DR, which are around Santiago (about an hour north of Puerto Plata). However, there's also a big cigar factory that offers tours near La Romana, but I'm not sure if that's more of a tourist attraction or a real cigar factory.
