I seem to be getting mixed information/reviews. Anyone have feedback on these 2 stops on Royal Caribbean cruise? I have heard that Dominica is more for a walking tour historical visit, and labidee is lovely for a lazy beahc day, and I have also heard the opposite. Any reviews are welcome. I leave tomorrow afternoon! Thank you!

Dominica is a beautiful, lush, mountainous, wild island.....called the "nature island". Lots of natural wonders to see, waterfalls, hot springs, sulfur baths, etc....
Labadee is a "manufactured" beach area of the cruise line, enclosed with huge fences & security......
thank you! what a shame about the latter!
I should elaborate....the beaches at Labadee are real, not man-made. The area itself is beautiful. But, it is "private", just for cruise ship passengers, enclosed by a huge fence & security. Only vendors who are licensed to sell there are allowed in.
There's nothing much to see in Dominica on a walking tour. The interesting stuff there is nature, and it's out on the island. Hiking to the volcanic areas, hiking to the waterfalls, rafting, snorkeling and diving, whale-watching. It depends on what you like, but if you spend your day in Roseau, you're going to come away from Dominica very unimpressed.
There may be tours now that go into Haiti from Labadee (I think that would be worth the trip, but I'm not sure they are running now), and I think there's a zip line attraction as well. It is a beautiful place, but it's basically a private-island type of experience, so water activities and the beach are the focus. Though there's a cultural show and opportunities for shopping, which you should take advantage of. Haitian art is not cheap, but it's really beautiful.
