Does anyone know of a place similar to Caneel Bay that has golf?

I'm trying to decide where to go and Caneel Bay sounds very appealing but my husband loves golf and I hate to go somewhere that has absolutely none. I am not looking for a golf centered resort but would like it as an option. I really like the service aspect of Caneel and also the old fashioned luxury/ elegant feel as opposed to contemporary. I also like the fact that they have no tv's! We are not big drinkers so nightly activities would also be a plus (Bingo?) Thanks for any help you can give!

Four Seasons in Nevis? It's very expensive, but quite elegant and has one of the most beautiful golf courses I've ever seen.

Four Seasons Nevis. We were just there two months ago.
Spectacular golf course- a challenge for sure!!!! Even if you don't play, it's so pretty to just walk or run it with all the views. They have several routes- easy, moderate, challenging, etc. It's fun to see the monkeys too.
The service is top notch too at the beach and pool- they are mind readers and there is nothing they can't do. Very relaxing- great spa. The landscaping is so so so beautiful!!!
Concierge was wonderful and helped us arrange everything before we even left.
If you go take the sailboat/snorkel tour (Caona) to St. Kitts! It was a great way to spend a few hours.

Raffles no longer operates a resort on Canouan. The property is now called Canouan Resort at Carenage Bay (www.canouan.com). It's a property in transition so do your THOROUGH research before booking to make sure it everything you want.

Four Seasons, Nevis is a very nice property with an interesting golf course but it is quite different from Caneel Bay so here again I suggest Gertie is considering this resort she should look carefully at the property and it's amenities to see if it offers what she is seeking.

Two other upscale resorts with golf that might fill the bill are Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic and Sandy Lane on Barbados.

There's lots of golf on Bermuda and a number of very nice resorts so give that island some consideration if you are planning a trip for late spring, summer or early fall otherwise you risk it being too cool for swimming.

Royal Westmoreland in Barbados, doubt it's anything like Caneel Bay since it is a villa resort.

Bermuda would be fabulous for a golfing holiday, we passed through Tuckers Point few times on our holiday there last year, it is a beautiful golf course plus Bermuda is a beautiful island but it is not in the Caribbean.

Another vote for Four Seasons Nevis. Beautiful course and setting.

If it's only one golf day, and you are in love with Caneel Bay, he could play Mahogany Run on St. Thomas. It would be a ferry and taxi, but they have nice club rentals there. I certainly wouldn't want to do it twice, and the Nevis course is nicer, to be honest.

Caneel Bay is super accessible to Mahogany Run Golf Course on St. Thomas http://www.mahoganyrungolf.com/. Caneel will charge you one time for the transfers between the airport on St. Thomas and the resort (round trip) and that charge includes continual use of the hotel ferry throughout your stay. You can be at the course in 30 minutes door to door, no extra fee to get there. Plus, there's lots to do on St. John- way more than any other Caribbean island I've been to. Downtown Cruz Bay has cute shops, fun bars, live music, etc. And don't forget all the sailing and snorkeling down there too!! Good luck planning, and enjoy!
