Yes, mine did. I hooked up to local Cable and Wireless service while I was there, it was a snap. I have Verizon, and I just dialed *86 and got thru to a local operator who had me hooked up in a couple of minutes. Of course, it's a little pricey, but if you have to have your phone, it's better than roaming LOL

A little pricey is an understatement. We called Cable and Wireless and they wanted a $250.00 deposit on a credit card ($500.00 on AMEX) and the price was $3.00 a minute. We said no thanks. We called home about 6 times from the hotel and the cost was approx. $1.00 a minute.

Yes, Our's worked as well -
But we were charged nearly $100 for about 10 minute call -We also connected throught the local company - and were not told that we would be charged so much. We fought it and the credit card company took it up with the Wireless company on Anguilla and we actually got our money back

Since my cell phone service includes long distance, are the charges still that high? my phone goes into automatic Roam when out of my range (AT+T service). So I would not need to get additional long distance. When I was in the Bahamas, I could not get a signal, just wanted to know if that happens in Anguilla. Thanks everyone for your help

Karen,

I would tell you that probably your cel will not work, without local wireless service and it has nothing to do with long distance charges, it is money charged by the local wireless company. Cel service in most parts of the carribean is iffy at best and expensive.

I would buy a calling card when you get there and use that to call home and leave the cel at home.

Have a great time.
