Day Trip from Curacao

My husband and I will be visiting Curacao in early June. We are interested in the possibility of taking a day trip to Bonaire. We both like to snorkel and understand that Bonaire has numerous places from the beach in which to snorkel. Based on what I have read it takes about 1 hr. & 45 min. by ferry each way. Would it be worth the trip????

Does anyone have any suggestions? Best way to travel? Best places to snorkel in Bonaire? When in Bonaire should we rent a car or a scooter?

Any help would be much appreciated.
