We plan to be in St. John in Apr. 2013. Our family includes 3 boys (10,8,& 5), all of whom can swim. Can anyone recommend a boat daytrip that would be appropriate for us? We would prefer a small number of passengers, but perhaps someone knows of a tour with a larger group but that would be particularly good for children. We are especially keen to find a tour with a captain/crew who are helpful and happy to deal with children.
Many thanks for any and all suggestions.

this trip is outstanding. they use a recofigured 'cigarette boat' which is very fast & which the kids will love. while cocktails are available this is definitely not a 'booze cruise'. the boat takes only about a dozen ppl so would be perfect for your family. there is ice cream just down the beach from the soggy dollar for the kids
if you want to do this trip book it months ahead, as it's very popular & books up way ahead.

We have done The New Horizons trip and it was nice. I'm sure your kids would like The Bath's but it is quite and distance and uses up a large part of the day. I you want a private charter, I highly recommend Captain John Brandi of Palm Tree Charters. He is great with the kids and the cost is $575 plus fuel. With either of these charters, you have to pay for customs fees and your own lunch so really the only extra cost would be the fuel. Captain Brandi's boat hold six people and you choose what you want to do. I am pretty sure he doesn't go to Virgin Gorda any more. He will also video tape your day at no extra charge. We have been on his boat three times and it a top notch operation!

I recommend Palm Tree Charters since your group is small. Otherwise for a larger boat/group trip, Bad Kitty is great.
