This was our first trip to Curacao and we spent 3 of our 12 nights at the Kura Hulanda (11/18-11/20/03). This was a fantatic hotel with very high quality service and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
This hotel is located in town, but they have transportation to their own beach. The town location made it very easy for sight seeing and shopping.
The rooms were immaculate. We stayed in a king jr suite and my husband's & my mother stayed in a room with two double beds. The floors were marble in both the bedroom and bathroom and there were marble sinks in the bathrooms. they provided Aveda products in the rooms.
We had a problem with our air conditioning unit and they moved us to another room very quickly. Our only complaint about the rooms were the beds. There were no box springs and the bed was VERY hard b/c of this.
They have two fantastic pools at this hotel and both were pratically empty each day when we were there. One complaint about the pool areas is there is very little sun in either pool area. Most people go on a caribbean vacation for the sun.
We had breakfast two mornings in their breakfast restaurant and it was very good.
One evening we had dinner at the Museum Restaurant at the Kura Hulanda and the food was prepared prefectly with very high quality ingrediants. Three peopel from our party had chicken over pasta and I had chicken and shrimp stir fry.
On the second evening we went into town and ate at La Bahia (sp?) on the water front. The food and service here was top notch. We had lasagna, chicken and beef dishes.
On the third evening we ate at the Wine Cellar. This restaurant was also top notch. My hubby and I had beef tenderloin, my Mom had Filet of Duck and his Mom had chicken. All were excellent. The service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an upscale dinner.
Overall, I would definately recommend Kura Hulanda. It is definately a 5 star resort focused on service and quality.
