I am spending hours scouring availability- for one of these two destinations in late March. Curacao seems less built up, and more affordable. The properties I am deciding on are Marriott @ Grand Cayman or Marriott at Curacao. Knowing my luck, when I try to book, they will be sold out! I do love Aruba and Turks and Caicos... and was slightly leaning toward Cayman if feasible-though pricey !
Curacao or Grand Cayman?

wonderful beach diving island flat small not as exotic as Curacao. Marriott.com has a new no foreign fee Chase Visa card I got 50000 miles with first use free for the first year. I just got one and got a number of free stays worldwide. Might try for something like that to save.
Have fun!
It depends on what you are looking for as both Islands are different. Grand Cayman will be more like Aruba and T & C with powder soft white sand beaches and clear water.
Curacao does not have any long stretches of beach like the other Islands mentioned. They are coves mostly on the West side and made of coral. Water shoes are a must. A rental car or a tour is also required for access.
Are you trying to use Marriott points? It may be less expensive to book a condo in GC instead and do some cooking in. When we went to Curacao we stayed at the Lions Dive in a 2 bedroom apartment and they offered a daily free shuttle to a local grocery store. We cooked in breakfast and lunch and ate out for dinners. In GC we did the AI thing at the Holiday Inn, which is no longer there, but it saved us tons especially on drinks.
Also you are trying to book during the most expensive time of the season; Spring Break and Easter Break. If you wait until the 2nd or 3rd week of May, before Memorial Day Weekend, prices will be significantly less.
