No, because the US does not support a Communist dictatorship regime 90 miles off our coast. Why go there when the Abaco Islands are about as far and have some lovely beaches, very good fishing, good snorkeling and a wide choice orice-wise of accommodations?
I do not mean to start a political thread here.
Stan, not everyone who posts on this forum has the travel restrictions that US citizens have.
Joanie - no advice to offer I'm afraid other than the very charming, older, seasoned (70years old +), British couple that we met in Jamaica said it was a very interesting island and well worth a visit.
Do please report back.
I can't give specific information on either property. We went to Cuba for the first time last October, stayed in Havana first few nights which was wonderful, at the NH Parque Central which has a great location and is a very good hotel.
We passed Jibacoa on the way to Varadero, it seemed isolated and in the middle of nowhere, the Breezes seemed to be the only property in that area. On the plus side there seems to be snorkeling in this area and is not too far from Havana. The hotel is a lower standard to the one in Holguin and having been to Cuba I would always choose the best hotel I can afford and would definitely go to Holguin rather than Jibacoa and I would not miss a chance to visit Havana.
There must be a price difference between the 2?
