Can anyone tell me what the health services are like in Cuba. My wife will be 5 months pregnant when we visit Cuba, and we have heard that Cuba is a safe location with good health facilities, should we need them.
Also we're told that we don't need any particular jabs for Cuba, is that right?
I would like some feedback from other travellers, and your experiences in Cuba.

A lot depends where you are going in Cuba. Most of the major Tourist areas have excellent health care facilities and specific foreign clinics. You will need either a valid medical insurance policy and number or else a credit card for service. Cash also works of course.
As to health concerns in Cuba, no specific shots are necessary, though I would take basic precautions and see that my tetanus shot is up to date. Personally, I also never travel anywhere without my Hep A+B shot. You can get the TwinRix type shops and have no worries at all.
Also make sure your travel insurance covers pregnancy expences as this might be excluded as a pre-existing condition. Depends on the policy.
