Never been to Cuba before but considering an August family vacation with kids 13& 11. A few questions:
1. Which area - Veradero or Holguin?
2. Which all inclusive resort has lots of activities for teens & kids?
3. How hot does it get? Does ocean breeze keep the humidity down?
4. Any Bugs/Mosquitoes?
5. Where is the best snorkeling?
I appreciate any help from Cuba experts! Thanks

hi helayne...I've been to both...For a quiet, country-like setting...I'd go for Holguin...especially if you want to snorkle...Varadero is a bit more the Miami type... I stayed at 3 Melia resorts in Cuba, one of which is the Melia Rio de Oro and they are the best. In Holguin, three Melia hotels are located on Playa Esmeralda, they are
all great (for food, activities)...On the other beach, hotels are cuban operated, less expenswive and ok...The costa verde is another option rather new and supposed to be very good..Cuba can be hot in the summer... but not more hot than florida or south carolina...Besides, you just dive in the water...mosquitoes should not be as bad a problem as in Cayo Coco where there are more swamps...
Good luck
