We will be three (maybe four) couples age 26-32 none with kids cruising together in september for 7 day trip to Eastern Caribbean. We enjoy bars, dancing, comedy clubs, discos and casino at night. (not interested in gourmet food or grand shows) During the day we enjoy all sports (especially watersports) and crazy games by the pool. We will probably not do any organized excursions on shore as we like to find things for ourselves. We want to be around people of similar age and not an older crowd. What cruise line do you think is best for us? <BR> <BR>Initially, I had thought Royal Caribbean or Carnival but now Disney is running a special on new 7day cruise on Wonder which is less expensive (and usually they are pricier I think) This will be September so the boats will not be as filled with kids since they are in school. We are just wondering of there are plenty of adult activities on the Disney cruises. Just so you know my husband and I are crazy about hearing kids run around and scream all the time but we had a great time at WDW 2 years ago doing adult activities such as spa, golf, and Pleasure Island. Any help?

This is a troll right? what kind of idiot would ask if there would be kids on a Disney cruise. Get a life and save the band space for serious questions. <BR> <BR>BTW...just because school is in doesn't mean the parents don't take the little darlings out of school and drag them to exotic vacation spots. I have spent many a trip walking around muttering why aren't these kids in school... <BR> <BR>If you want a young crowd with hearty parties, go Carnival. I doubt if parents of the darlings on Disney would want a lot of partying going on around them.

Excuse me! I am not a troll and I did not ask if there would be kids on a disney cruise. My post stated that I knew they would be there, hopefully less so during school. I was asking if there were plenty of adult activities on board for us to have a good time!

Ignore the poor slob above- He's not been out of the bathroom all morning! Went on two golf cruises several years ago on the Big Red Boat- Hated the cruises and that boat, (very old and closed in, but they were free cruises so what the heck- we declined their offers the next years) Virtually no kids were on board, but Minnie and Mickey were popping up everywhere.Saw the new ship in St. Thomas a couple of weeks ago and it looked great. We DID party hearty!

<BR>I would DEFINITELY spend the extra bucks & pick another line. Carnival is active (everything you describe) without being too terribly snooty or trendy & non of the silliness Disney is famous for. I personally do not like sharing my vacation with cartoon characters with or without a lot of kids on board. I'm glad they exist. They hopefully draw families with active kids away from the other ships. <BR> <BR>BTW, there are always kids on the ships & on vacation in the Caribbean. It always amazes me how people drag tiny babies or preschool tots along.

Abe, ask anything you want. Those of us who actually travel will try to help you with educated responses. <BR> <BR>I personally hate the mouse but I'll tolerate anything for the right price. Disney touts their line as one with adult activities so you don't feel like you're on a floating jungle gym. It might be worth a shot. They might even try harder. You know the service, food and accomodations will be decent. I've cruised Carnival with plenty of rowdy kids and adults so it's a matter of preference. Just remember if you're really anti-kid (and I'm not accusing you), unless you sit with your entire group at dinner you'll likely end up listening to someone telling 'kid' stories. .

The Disney Cruise is great for adults too. We did it two years ago and had a terrfic time. Yes there are kids but there's plenty of adult only things too. <BR>My only regret is that the 7 day was not available at the time. You'll love it! <BR> <BR>

We went on the disney cruise 3 years ago with our children and it was wonderful. Have the late seating for dinner and you should not have a problem. Although i never once remember hearing children misbehave and as for the guy above I have been dragging my children all over the caribbean since they were 10 days old and they are better behaved than alot of adults i have seen on vacation!!!!

Don't forget there are no Casinos on Disney ships. Disney owns 3 professional sports teams (Mighty Ducks and I fogot what other team)so they can't run casinos. <BR>You will able to go to the Atlantis in Nassau though.

Abe, <BR> <BR>There should *definitely* be fewer kids on any cruise if you going during mid- to late September. We cruised last year at this exact time on Royal Caribbean and saw almost no kids at all (we are both 30). Can't say for sure if Disney would be the same, but I'm sure there'd be fewer kids than in summer or over holiday/spring vacation periods. You might want to try one of Royal Caribbean's really big new ships like Voyager. They have many more sports and other activities (i.e. rock climbing wall, ice rink, basketball court etc.) than the smaller ships do and I think they also draw a younger, more active crowd. Although I've never been on a Carnival cruise, I've been told that Royal Caribbean is a little nicer and a little more upscale, (although I didn't think snobby at all). Good luck and have fun!

Let me get this straight----you think that you can get 6-8 single adults to all agree to go on a DISNEY CRUISE?? Whadda are you, nuts??? Quit wasting everyone's time and opt for Carnival---PLEASE.

What kind of prices have you found? i have been wanting to take my kids on a disney cruise and compared to the other cruise lines they are outrageous! Carnival is a much more affordable and probably better suited for adults. Save the money, opt for carnival and spend your savings in the casino! PS Remember that is the beginning of hurricane season so you may be able to get some deep discounts.

I can't believe anyone who is traveling without kids would even consider a trip on a Disney ship. No matter what time of year you will find children on their ships, and lots of them! I wouldn't book that trip even if it was free!!!

You may want to consider a Princess Cruise,Royal Caribbean or Windstar - Windstar in particular does not have a lot of kids. <BR> <BR>We have been on the Disney and don't recommend it as not enough for older teens and adults to do. Windstar would be my bet - and they stop in islands with casinos. It is a real adult experience on a smaller ship. Look into it! Perfect for your age group.

Just a couple of items to clear up, we will NOT be 6-8 SINGLE adults. We are all young married couples and one couple does have a child (1 yr. old) We will just be traveling together. We all LOVE disney and in fat took a trip there together 2 years ago. As far as prices go, I thought Carnival was normally cheaper too but not so. The prices I have found for Carnival are $999 that time of year excluding airfare. disney and Royal Caribbean are both $799/person. I realize Disney is normally more, but I think they drop their prices that time of year just beause kids are in school and they have a harder time filling the ships. the only cheaper cruise line is Celebrity which I WILL NOT take. We did Celebrity cruise to Alaska with my inlaws a while back and did not have fun. It seemed snooty and geared to a much OLDER crowd no one was interested in letting to have fun. Mayebe we should just look at Royal Caribbean.

I was hoping you would come back and say it was a joke! But then, different strokes for different folk. I can't begin to imagine dinner with Goofy and snorkling with Mickey - to say nothing of the little ankle biters and rug rats that the hundreds of others the hoards can't leave home without! Can you imagine lining up for the shore excursions alone? I can't but then I can't on a "normal" ship either! "When you Wish upon a Star" played on the smokestack whistle would be enuf to make me wish I were!

I have went on the DISNEY new cruise!! <BR>Was good, but enjoy CARNIVAL much better!! Have been on FOUR Carnival cruises. Last year on NEW TRIUMPH -- really try the TRIUMPH! It is a beautiful new ship, the BEST funny cruise director, and much BETTER food than on the DISNEY cruise. The Disney cruise has NO casino, and I'm sure some of the people you are going with will at least gamble a little! Disney also has NO MIDNIGHT Buffet. Carnival has a good disco, KAROKE bar, sing -a-long bar, MANY bars - X-rated comdy show at 1am, etc. etc. CARNIVAL seems more suited for a FUN group like you are all going with. Try TRIUMPH or DESTINY.
