Couples Resorts Special

Have been considering a Couples Resort vaca. They have a "Secret Rendezvous" Special that seems quite reasonable - they tell you which resort 7 days prior to your scheduled arrival. My wife and I are 35 and have never done an AI, but would like a mix or romance, relaxation and activity. Anyone have any thoughts/recommendations re: Couples Resorts and the Special? Thanks.

cannot speak about the Specila because the resort I like the best is in Negril, Swept Away. It is really lovely and on a great beach. Lots of spa and fitness emphasis.

I am not a fan of Ochi so would not take a chance but, if price isthe major issue, it might work out for you.

Hi, jimmyboy. We've been to Couples 3 times, twice to C.Negril and once to Sans Souci. I agree with kfusto in regards to preferring Negril to OR. Negril's beaches are far superior, IMO, but I must admit that the views from our hillside suite at Sans Souci were amazing. As far as the Couples experience goes, I don't think you can go wrong with either area, Negril or OR. Your description of a mix of romance, relaxation and activity is spot on; there's plenty to do if you're so inclined, but no pressure if you simply want to chill.

We found the food at Couples to be
far superior to any other AI we've visited. Drinks were top shelf, as was the service. My recollection is that the Special can be quite a discount, so it's a good deal. If you do end up in Negril, don't miss the Catamaran cruise with Rasta Ralphie---it's a hoot, with a glorious sunset thrown in for good measure.

If you haven't visited the Couples website, I encourage you to check it out. The message boards are lively, and searching on Secret Rendezvous will no doubt give you all kinds of reviews and opinions.

Enjoy your vacation !

I don't know for sure, but according to the Couples message board, most people get either Couples Ocho Rios or San Souci. I haven't heard of anyone getting Negril (either resort).

You can't go wrong at any Couples resort. Food, drinks, service, activities are all top of the line. My wife and I have been to Couples nine times (six to Ocho Rios and three to Swept Away) and are going again next month.

I know this is an old post but if you are still planning I just wanted to say that I loved Couples Ocho Rios. I look forward to someday going to Couples Swept Away! The beach wasn't the nicest at Sans Souci, but the food, staff, grounds, views were amazing

FYI for those who don't know, Couples Ocho Rios has offically closed for renovations and will hopefully re-open sometime in 2009.

I was so glad to hear it and might actually finally make it to Ocho Rios when it re-opens.
