CoralStone Club or Avalon?

If the pool was repaired and the construction at the Ritz Carlton was finished, would you stay at the CoralStone Club or The Avalon and why? We will be staying on GC the end of November, 2 adults and 2 teen boys ages 17 and 14. Thanks for any suggestions!

Avalon hands down. Simply put, it's the finest condo facility on Cayman. Having seen the Ritz construction in April, I can't believe it will be done and open in November. You'll have much more room at Avalon and its location is better beachfront by far than the Ritz.

Thanks Randy. I agree with you about the construction that will still be on going in November. The Avalon is all booked for our dates when I inquired through caymanvactions.com. We are looking at several other condos now. Any opinions on Discovery Point Club, Tarquynn Manor, Plantana or Aqua Bay Club? We would really like to saty towards the North end of 7 Mile Beach. We will be renting a car. I need some help, first time going to GC. Thanks!

Robin-
We stayed at Aqua Bay on very short notice in April. It was very clean and comfortable, good beach--except for a bit of large rock that you can easily get around by going in carefully or by moving up or down the beach, nice small pool, screened porches, etc. Housekeeping was very efficient and quick to zip into our condo when we were out. It's not as nice as Avalon but still very comfortable. We'd stay there again and we are a pretty fussy family. Good luck!

Did you check about renting through the condo directly or another rental agency? Sometimes just because one website is sold out, doesn't mean the entire condo is sold out, just that website's block of rooms. Just a thought.

The Ritz will probably not be open before December 2004.

Between Coralstone and Avalon (giving the construction is done) I would pick the Coralstone. I do not like the fact that you need to walk all the way around the building to get to the beach at Avalon.
Having just returned from Cayman, I do believe that the Ritz construction will still be under way in November.. When the Ritz is completed can you imagine the crowds that will spill out on the beach? Their restaurant has over 1,000 person capacity. Where will they all go?
Anyway, if you are looking for more quiet place I strongly recommend Aqua Bay Club (two bedroom condos). Their units are very nice, beach is great and sooo quiet.
