I'd like opinions on staying at Compass Point Beach in Nassau with children. My daughters are 6 and 8, and we'd really love to avoid the Atlantis-type scene, but be close to transportation, out-islands excursions, and good food. Compass Point looks so inviting - just wondering if anybody out there has experience staying there with kids. Thanks!

We just recently came back from staying at Compass Point. We loved how quiet it was. We did notice a family or two with small children. I think your family will enjoy staying there.
Compass Point does have good food, but it is an out of the way place and expensive to get to other restaurants and for excursions to out islands.
Why not just go to an out island? Harbour Island is amazing. Drive around golf carts, gorgeous beach, upscale resorts with excellent restaurants, yet small quaint and charming.
I love compass point. I love the out islands. My daughter loved compass point for about an hour. She actually has loved the out islands. But from an 8 years perspective, you can't expect kids to be so close to Atlantis and not be there. Compass point is 1/2 hour or $60 taxi cab to everywhere.
I think either pick Atlantis (which you're still close to out island excursions) or go directly to the out islands. One or the other.
That way it's not just a compromise.
