Comfort Suites on Provo

We are also looking at the Comfort Suites and the Sands. Trying to decide if the price difference is worth it. Are they close? Has anyone stayed at the Comfort Suites? We spend most of our time outside and are really only in the room to sleep. Are any resturants close? Within walking distance? I saw a few posts previously but I wasn't sure of the distances. Thanks for your help.

Hi JH,
We stayed at the Sands in Oct. for 2 weeks and spent a lot of time all over the island.
We saw the Comfort Suites and were very impressed. It's a beautiful property and is across the street from the best beach on Provo, as well as very close by wonderful restaurants and some shopping.
I have heard nothing but really nice things about it, and I'm sure you would not go wrong by staying there.
If cost is a big consideration, and an ocean view from your room is not important to you, I would definitely consider CS.
If the price difference is not that much, I'd go with the Sands.
We enjoyed the Sands very much and plan to return.

My wife and I stayed at the Comfort Suites on Provo in February 2002. We really enjoyed our holiday and would not hesitate to go back to Comfort Suites. The Port of Call is right next door and has three fairly good restaurants...Latitudes, Bare Foot Cafe and Calico Jacks. There are other restaurants within easy walking distance or short cab ride. All restaurants we ate at were quite acceptable. The CS is a short walk (5-10 minutes) from the Grace Bay. Wait till you see the white of the sand contrasted against the turquoise blue of the water...memorable to say the least.

Question for Dave:
Re: CS - do they provide beach chairs ON the beach or just around the pool ?
The last time I was on Provo - we took a little look at CS and were favourably impressed and I liked the proximity to several restaurants - we are seriously considering staying there on our next trip.

JMM..yes they do provide chairs at the beach. There is a public access road just across from the Port of Call, running along side the Allegro. When you get to the end there are 4/5 tiki huts with 10-12 chairs. Stretch out and relax. From our room at CS to the stretching part....10 minutes. We always went early in the morning to avoid burning too much...never a problem getting a chair. The rooms at the CS are wonderful. Nice and clean with attentive staff. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
