cheapest flights to dominican???

I'm looking for the cheapest tickets to Puerta Plata for July and I've tried flycheapol.com, cheaptickets.com and expedia .com. A friend got tickets for $400 (They didn't say where) and I can't find any for under $550. Any ideas for other sites? Thanks
