We are thinking of taking our young kids (5 and 6) to the Pelicanos Hotel in Cayo Largo in march.
We have a couple of questions...
1) Is it a good place for children?
2) Is the building work complete?
3) Some photos show seaweed on the beach. Is this common?
4) Is it a safe resort (Ie can you walk along the beach between hotels...)

1. Cayo Largo is a smaller development then other Cuban developments. They have a children's programme and it is good. It may not be as large as some other resorts.

4. Absolutely safe
I disagree with the previous comment. As we went there last year, I think that this island and the five resorts which are operated by Gran Caribe are more suitable for adults than children.The island is secluded and a lot of people practice naturism on the beach. For myself, Cayo Largo is one of the best vacation destination in the Caribbean Islands.
