Cayman restaurant ?s

I have several restaurant questions:
1. What is you favorite seafood restaurant? Not too expensive, in 7mb, West bay or Georgetown?
2. For this time of year how soon do you need to make reservations?
3. To avoid a wait, how early does one need to go to casual places like Lone Star, Legends, etc.?

Not a restaurant question but how far in advance should we book to Sting Ray City& who do you recommend for this? Are there other boat tours that are very fun? One of us may have seasickness issues so we may have to see how he does to Sting Ray City to book anything else.

This is a difficult question because very few restaurants in Grand Cayman are inexpensive. My favorite restaurants in Grand Cayman for fresh fish are Blue, Osetra Bay, Brasserie, Morgan's Harbour and Ortanique. The first 2 ( Blue and Osetra Bay) are expensive. You can look at caymangoodtaste.com for the prices. Remember that the prices are in Cayman dollars.
Off-season you usually don't need reservations, but if you want to be sure of a specific time, you can make reservations the same day.
Lengendz is not usually crowded. It usually gets the overflow from Eats next door. It has the same food as Eats. I have found no reason to return to LoneStar. If you want a relatively inexpensive place in the area try Cimboco or Sunshine Grill.

Captain Marvin is a good choice for Sting Ray City.

We didn't like LoneStar, it felt dirty and it's right by the busy road. Food wasn't up to much. We had some inexpensive fish dishes at Rackam's Waterfront in Georgetown, they have daily specials, lovely view, outdoor seating and tarpon feeding around 7pm.

We enjoyed a 2 hour sunset cruise with Red Sail Sports.

The Public Beach area( Calico Jacks, Surfside) or Tiki Beach can be crowded if there are a lot of cruise ships in port. You can check the schedule for ships here: http://www.caymanport.com/shipschedules.php. If there are ships in port then it is best to go to that are after 3PM.

Calico Jacks is a has decent food and it is not a bad place to hang out especially if you are not staying in a property that is not beachfront.. Surfside has mediocre food and appears content to cater to the cruise ship crowd. Tiki Beach is relatively expensive, and the food is not that great. The Cracked Conch and Macabuca are in the same price range as Tiki Beach and have better food and service.

Michael's Genuine is an excellent restaurant in Camana Bay. I also enjoyed Mizu in Camana Bay. Do not go to LoneStar for food. A lot of the younger local people go there after hours for drinks. The bar is usually packed. Calypso Grill is a good choice for seafood.

We also enjoyed Michael's Genuine F&B, thought it was a very good restaurant. It was recommended to us by the dive company.
