My recommendation would be Providenciales (Provo) in the Turks and Caicos or Anguilla off St Martin. Both have great restaurants and beaches. Grace Bay Beach in Provo has seven mile beach beat hands down. Neither island is touristy --No cruise ships.

Thanks for all your help. What is the weather like in February for the Turks.
We go to Aruba in June so want to go some place different in February. Also looking at the Westin in St. Johns. Any help on that facility. You guys are great!

I've heard great things about the St. John Westin, but keep in mind, they'll probably be lots of kids.
I don't know if you have children, but if not, I'd choose another place.
I have a 12 yr. old son, so kids is a plus for us.

Provo is heaven on earth but no night life. One of the greatest beaches in the world and turquoise water like you'ver never seen before. The weather is great all year 'round. Have a great time where ever you go!

Really disappointing about GC--we were there in July. Seven-mile beach is remarkable and hard to match. The Westin St.J is not on a particularly nice beach--also harder to get around on St. John than GC. We were in T&C in Feb. a few yrs. back and the weather wasn't great--could have been unusual but the Bahamas are a bit more north than the Carib. Islands. We love Anguilla as our 1st choice and GC no. 2. Lots of great beaches and restaurants on Anguilla. Another choice might be Virgin Gorda although the restaurant choices are more limited.

I wonder who advised that Cayman would not be ready for tourists in February ?
We re-opened on Nov 20th, so someone is not well informed.
Some resorts and condos will still be closed for repairs in February, but several of those (including the Hyatt) are actually taking the opportunity afforded them to undertake major upgrades, so are skipping the season to come back better than ever.
If you were scheduled for Cayman in the last week in February, there are many places available.

I love St John, but the resort choices are more limited. We stayed in Maho Bay at the eco campground and it was one of the best trips of our life. However, it is not luxury. If you have kids though, it's so cool. And they have a fantastic beach with great snorkeling.
Have you considered Tortola?

I can't suggest where to go but I'm sorry I am in Aruba(I'm typing from my hotel room at the Marriott). It's my opinion that this can't hold a candle to GC and if only The Links had reopened, we'd be sitting on Seven Mile Beach now instead of here. Our other choice of Turks didn't have availability for us at the late date. Good luck in choosing.
