Cayman Islands in October
My wife and I just booked a stay on Grand Cayman October 11-18 (we like to travel in mid-October because it's off-peak so many places and our anniversary is Oct 16th). Then we read that October is the rainiest month in the Caymans, averaging 9 inches of rain. Has anyone been to the Caymans in October? Should I reschedule my trip?

I have been to the Cayman Islands in September and November and I have always been blessed with relatively good weather. I never went in October. The times that I was there in September, when it rained, it was never more than a few hours. There was plenty of time to go to the beach. However, since this is a special occasion, I would try to postpone it to mid-November, if possible.

My husband and I honeymooned on Grand Cayman last October (anniversary is the 19th). We are from South FL and I would say the weather is very similar in GC as in S.FL. When we were there it only rained twice. Both times it was in the afternoon/early evening. As GeorgeR said, it doesn't last more than a couple of hours. As we say in Florida, "if you don't like the weather, give it ten minutes". Enjoy your trip!

We just got back from Cayman, and the weather said 80% chance of rain, but it only rained for about 30 minutes one day. I brought back some yummy Tortuga Rum Cake, and I have been "saving it for a rainy day," but reading about Cayman in this forum is making me want to eat it now!
