Cayman Condo at Christmas

We are planning to spend Christmas somewhere in the Caribbean with our family, and my first choice is Grand Cayman. Can anyone recommend a nice beach front condo or beach house, which will sleep 4 adults and 2 children? It has to be at agood beach for snorkeling, because my grandson wants to see a Queen Angelfish for his Christmas present.

We just came back from Grand Cayman. There are plenty of nice condos but not many with 3 bedrooms. We had 4 adults and 2 kids and stayed at the CoralStone Club. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths right on 7 Mile Beach. Not cheap but the full kitchen allowed us to eat breakfest, lunch, and most dinners in so we saved some money that way. This is next to the Holiday Inn and a few doors down from the Westin, still the beach is fairly private. Snorkling on 7 Mile Beach is fine but not the best because it is sandy and not a coral reef.

We were in Cayman last December. We stayed at Morritt's Tortuga club (time share) on the east end of the island. As we drove from Morrits to Rum Point we noticed many houses with Cayman Villa signs out front. When we returned home I did a search on the net for them -- when I got to their site I found that I could look at all of those properties (owner's rent through them), and where they were located. There are some great snorkeling spots on that side of the island, the Queen's monument particularly, small coral heads withing ten feet of shore. We thought it was great. Also that side of the island is much quieter, which was a plus for us. It's about a 45 minute drive back to 7 mile beach, but it's very close to Rum Point. From Rum Point you can take the ferry back to town. That also puts you very close to Sting Ray City (a must!). The Cayman Villa site gives you a map of the island and where their properties are located -- they have small condos to very large houses -- most right on the beach. Hope this helps.

<BR>Hi. Just got back from there last night. We stayed at Lacovia Condos. Very pleased with them. We had a first floor unit ON THE OCEAN. Be sure to ask for that otherwise you'll be off the beach. It was 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, nice kitchen, dining room and living room. In fact it was unit 31. Washer and dryer also. The beach is very nice there. Much of Seven Mile Beach is narrow but in front of Lacovia it is real wide. Enjoy!!
