We have done plenty of AI resorts where at least one restaurant was considered dress up. The non-AI resorts or restaurants off the resort, my husband didn't have any problem with cargo shorts, a short sleeved buttoned down shirt and leather sandals.
Playa del Carmen, MX - any restaurant/bar on or off 5th Avenue
Cancun, Cozumel, Key West, FL, Curacao, Turks & Caicos, Puerta Vallarta.
Just a few destinations that we've been to with no need to dress up. However, ratty old shorts and faded T-shirts didn't seem appropriate anywhere for dinner.
I think most every destination will have a least a few restaurants that won't require a specific dress.
you might look at isla mujeras off cancun
I agree, we've been there also. Plenty of beach side restaurants where casual dress is fine.
