I certainly hope that you are not plannig to travel there soon. The volcano on the island has been erupting now for a year. In May of 1996 I was on the Windjammer Polynesia, and Montserrat was to be one of our stops. As it turned out we did not even go anywhere near the island. Last week I read in the paper that they were evacuating another section of the island. In a news clip ash covered everything, the cars using wipers to keep it clean enough to see to drive. Ugh. Agree with Jean - Monserrat is exploding and they are currently evacuating most if not all of the locals. It may become permanently uninhabitable. Try St Kitts, Nevis, or St Lucia instead.
