Caribbean in JULY

I would like to take my husband away for a surprise getaway around the 4th of July for four or five days. We do not want to return to Aruba, Anguilla, Jamaica Bermuda, Turks and Caicos, but are looking for suggestions including beautiful beaches, nice restaurants and some nightlife would be nice but nnot essentia. Any suggestions woule be most appreciated.

You might want to try out The Bahamas if you're looking for beautiful beaches. I have been to Andros Island, and I love it. I believe all the Out-Islands are a little rustic, and I know for a fact that night-life is pretty much non-existent, but I find Andros Island to be very quiet, friendly, and the water is spectacular. You have all-inclusive resorts like Small Hope Bay Lodge (Pros: Very friendly staff, cottages right by the ocean, family atmosphere, drink and eat all you want as it is all-inclusive. Cons: Rustic, no 'butlered service', rooms are a bit basic) and Kamalame Cay (Pros: High-end luxury resort. Cons: Expensive)

This island is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, laid-back place where you don't see many people. It can be a little expensive, but it is totally worth it!

We have traveled to the Caribbean in July many times. Hotel rates and air fare drop dramatically.

I highly recommend the following: Hotel L' Esplanade or it's sister boutique hotel Le Petit in St. Martin.. Both properties are at either end of downtown Grande Case which has tremendous restaurants. Grande Case is known for fine dining options. You will also find some low key entertainment in the evening's.

Le Petit is directly on the beach and L' Esplanade is on a hill across from the water. There is a lovely walking path that will lead you to the waters edge and all of the fine dining restaurants and Lo Lo's located on the water.

Orient Beach is a short cab ride from the French side of the island and offers beach bars and restaurants.

Another recommendation would be Four Seasons Nevis. We traveled in July and stayed 8 days and 7 nights and paid 4K which included air fare. We also got a 100 per night resort credit that we used towards meals at the resort. Pinney's beach is beautiful, brown sand and all. Nevis is old school caribbean. Very tropical, no high rise hotels, no casino's, no Big Mac's or KFC. You can also find fine dining options on this island. Nevis is spectacular and should be on your bucket list.

One idea is St John, US Virgin Islands. They celebrate Festival(Carnival) culminating on July 4th. You could have great beaches and restaurants as well as a parade and fireworks and other cultural activities.
