Car seat worries in St. Lucia

I will be travelling with my 19 month old to St. Lucia and was wondering if anybodyu had any experience with commuting with or without a car seat. It will be four people plus baby travelling pretty much everywhere just wondering if the cars would fit two adults plus a car seat comfortably. Also do transports tolerate car seats, do they charge extra? I know car seats are not mandatory but I just dont feel good about not having him strapped in.

Actually, car seats are required by law in St. Lucia. If you are renting a car, all but the smallest cars can fit two adults and a car seat in the back seat (although it will be tight in some cars). If, by transport, you mean a bus, it would probably be a pain installing and removing a car seat. If you mean a taxi, all taxis welcome carseats and don't charge extra.
