Cap Juluca vs. CuisinArt?

I'm looking on opinions for Cap Julca vs. CuisinArt in Anguilla. I'm trying to stay on a budget as much as possible. CuisinArt is slightly cheaper, but with all the raves of Cap, should I just splurge? How do their respective beaches compare, along with expenses for food/add-ons/etc? Would you go for the 1st floor Cuisinart Ocean view (patio opening the beach) or the 2nd floor ocean view?<BR><BR>Also, I'm looking for opinions on more budget-oriented places in Anguilla. Which ones have people found to be the best in terms of value, location and service? I'm very concerned with finding ones located on the BEST BEACH. How does Rendevous Bay compare to the Arawak? <BR><BR>Also, I would really like opinions on Anguilla vs. Antigua. Which beaches are nicer? Where is diving and snorkeling better? Originally, I planned to go to Antigua, but have become very drawn to Anguilla, even though it's pricier. Is it worth it? Opinions of the AllegroPineapple Beach in Antigua? <BR> <BR>Are Anguilla and the Cap worth the extra money??<BR><BR>I'm completely researched out and would love any advice!! Thanks so much.

Don't give up with out checking wwww.frangipani.ai -- Meads Bay is our favorite beach (although the Cap & Cuisinart beaches are spectacular as well).

Definitely Cap Juluca! Cuisinart is nice, but a little too overdone for my taste.

If you;ve narrowed it down to CapJ and CuisinArt, CJ is definitely worth the bigger bucks. Check luxurylink.com and see if Cap is still up for auction. CuisinArt's beach can be choppy with the wind, CapJ has beachside and waterside dining and the rooms furnished much nicer and are just wonderful. Request end room in villa at CuisinArt rather than a middle room since the patio would be blocked in on both sides in the middle room. Meads Bay is great too. That and Maundy's where Cap is are much better than Rondevous. Does Arawak have a beach?

If you can afford it Cap Juluca is definitely worth the money. We stayed there last summer and can't wait to go back. We visited Cuisinart and found it to be a little pretentious while Cap was very laid back. We also liked the beach at Cap better than the beach at Cuisinart....just my opinion. Another thing that we loved at Cap was that we could hear the sound of the waves from our room. We didn't eat at Cuisinart, but the food at Cap was excellent. If you are on a strict budget I agree with Mary, Frangipani looked very nice and is on Mead's Bay which is also a beautiful beach. Most beaches in Anguilla are incredible. Good luck in your decision.

Stayed in a JS at CJ 2 years ago w/our 2 daughers and loved everything about the resort except the pool location. Going back to Anguilla this March and have reserved a Luxury Junior suite at Cuisinart. Saw Cuisinart when we were there last and the rooms can't hold a candle to those at CJ but the pool was great (when you have kids this is a must) so that is why we are staying at Cuisinart this time. However, I just checked CJ web site for rates and found CJ's Junior suite to be $105.00 CHEAPER than the JS at Cuisinart for the time we are going. Plus no free drinks in the minibar at Cuisinart. Tough decision---. If you are looking for really reasonable rates try the Anguilla Great House right next door to Cuisinart. Same great beach, pool and rooms w/OV.

Cuisinart IS cheaper that Cap Juluca. And, it's tres tacky. Very loud bright yellow and royal blue color scheme. Some of the lobby furnishings are inappropriate to the setting, the poolside cafe service was lacking when we lunched there, the beach isn't as nice or as long. What is better at Cuisinart is the pool but that's negligible when compared with CJ's fabulous beach. Cuisinart also has a lovely spa.<BR><BR>The clientele at Cuisinart appears to be almost entirely from the U.S. Caps guests are international with significant representation from Europe, the U.K., the antipodes and South America. Much more to my taste.<BR><BR>Cuisinart will please very young people, people with families looking for a nice place. It's not my cuppa tea but Cap surely is. Worlds apart.

To Kat:<BR>Spoke w/the reservationist today and I was told that the rooms at Cuisinart have been redecorated. As for the beach, I don't know where you were but the beach at CA is 2-3 times LONGER than the beach at Cap. As for rates check out the price of a JS starting April 1 and you will see that Cuisinart is $70.00 MORE per night than CJ!!!!

The beach in front of Cuisinart is much smaller; that is the section that is in front of the resort and equipped with chaise longues, umbrellas, etc. Cap is spread out along one bay with almost a mile of beach all to itself (yes, the beach is public in theory but not really in practice). That beach is furnished with chaise longues, umbrellas, tables, etc., and is groomed daily. Then, there's another whole beach just above Pimms (although it's not groomed, good for walking).
