Caneel Bay: transport from airport
My husband and I are off to Caneel Bay in a few weeks and can't wait. Our package includes "airport greeting," but not, apparently, transfer from St Thomas to Caneel Bay. My questions are the following:
a) What is an "airport greeting"?
b) Is there any other option but to use Caneel's own transfer service, for which you pay an extra $60/65 a person?
Thanks so much in advance for your help.

The transfer service from STT to Caneel is actually done by the private yacht of the hotel. It docks in downtown St. Thomas. The ride is great with terrific siteseeing of the island as you leave. Guests are really pampered during the crossing which takes about 45 minutes. At the Caneel side, you disembark right at the resort. The only other option would be to take a cab to Red Hook, take the ferry to St. John and then another cab to Caneel. The private boat is the best option. It's well worth the bucks!

IN ADDITION...does Caneel Bay's ferry allow one to go back and forth to St. Thomas for free? If so, that's even better.
We're going to St. John in 2 weeks and the Westin's ferry service lets one go back and forth to St. Thomas for free once you pay the $68 fee.
Look into that with Caneel.

Caneel's transfer service includes unlimited usage of their scheduled service to downtown Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook. Also included is taxi service to and from the airport. They even provided private taxi pick-up from the hotel that we stayed on St. Thomas prior to our Caneel Stay. They take care of your luggage removing you of that chore.
For my first stay, I struggled with my luggage with a taxi to a public ferry to Cruz Bay, and then another taxi to Caneel. Never again! If you plan any additional trips to St. Thomas, financially it will be about the same with all of the stress removed and complimentary rum punches included. Have fun on your trip. It will be wonderful!

I guess I'll be the lone dissenter. For me it's not worth the money. If your flight is the first to arrive you may have an hour to hour & a half wait in the airport(that's what happened to us last June - we changed our minds and took a cab to Red Hook and then ferry to St. John. I'm not sure why anyone would want to back to St. Thomas once you are on St. John, there's no need. There are enough stores to shop on St. John(if that's what you really want to do vacation).
