Caneel Bay, Little Dix Bay, or Biras Creek for a wedding?

Hi all,

My fiance and I are trying to decide between Biras Creek or Little Dix Bay resort for our wedding. Any recommendations or suggestions? The pricing seems to be comparable - but Little Dix Bay does not include meals - has anyone stayed there? Do you what the prices of food cost? I'd like to keep the costs for our guests to be below $2500/pp for 4 nights plus airfare. We are targeting a wedding date of Nov 10th. I'm hoping that it is still past the Hurrican season but still before the high season.

Thanks so much for your help! I am new to this forum and it's been great so far.

I would do either Caneel or Biras. Not little dix, food is not worth the cost, IMO. I was there most recently in Dec. spent the afternoon at their new spa (very nice) and had dinner - not so nice. Its showing its wear and tear.
Biras is a really special place, I am sure you will get some responses about it as some folks here have been.
Caneel, if you do a search for it you will find tons of posts.
Nov. 10 is technially still in hurricane season, (ends Nov. 30) however, we are almost always there by then and have never had a problem. Its not "peak" hurricane season.
Also, Nov. 10 is before high season starts in the Caribbean, check your properties for your specific dates to see exact pricing.
Either one I dont think you will be unhappy with your choice!

When we were at Biras in Dec. there were 3 weddings. The couples enjoyed it though 2 of the couples said it was a short service but in a pretty nice setting, we saw it.I think it is now $1500 up from $1000. I would not know the rate at Caneel but if it is $~$1000 you can almost pay for an extra night at Caneel.
Biras with service and tax is about $800+/night (inclusive of all meals, tax and service) but Caneel may only be $100 less, in say the Hawks Nest section, one of the nicest. But, Biras is a much more intimate resort. It probably accommodates 1/4 the number of guests and only a few children.

Thanks for your input! We've decided on Little Dix Bay.

Any suggestions on nearby hotels as an option for our guests looking for a more economical hotel?

Thank you

There is not much there in terms of "hotels" or what you might think of when you think of a hotel.

There is guavaberry spring bay , which are actually cottages, please note no AC but they do have windows on all sides and a good breeze.

Fishers Cove, which is in "town" but on a nice beach. They are little cottages also.

Therere are condos - Old Yard Village. (it used to be a hotel, now condos but basically they operate as a hotel, they are not that cheap though)

In that area of the island thats pretty much it. There is not much at all on VG. Its a sleepy place.

Make sure you dine at the Rock cafe, one of the only decent places to eat on the island. Food is much better than little dix.
