Anyone been to Superclubs Breezes Jibacoa?

Post your question over at Trip Advisor on their Cuba forum. You'll get lots of replies there.

We went in September two years ago and enjoyed ourselves. It was nothing fancy, but clean. I found it very hot in the buffet at that time of year and would have preferred to eat outdoors if it weren't for all the smokers there. They have a nice walking trip in the mornings that will give you a good overlook of the resort and the water. The piano bar is great in the evenings, very cool in there with amusing and efficient staff behind the bar. Thought the food was good too. Enjoyed the beach grill, fresh fish of the day as well as burgs etc.
Took a trip into Havana organized by the cousin of a cousin of the girl in the towel shack. You know what I mean! Loved Havana but make sure that the proposed air conditioned car really has air or else you'll be choking on the diesel fumes all the way to Havana. I'd go back there again. It was great!

Hi, my husband and I stayed there late last November and loved it. It is about half way between Varadero and Havana.

The staff are fabulous and the rooms are all in 2 story buildings with a private patio or balcony. The whole resort is well landscaped and kept very clean.

We did have our room changed however as originally we were put near the pool, disco area and we wanted quiet.

We also went to Havana, there are many day tours available through the resort.

The food was fine, but nothing special. One thing - this resort really does seem to cater to an older clientele and is known to be a quiet resort, not a 'party' resort. And it's quite isolated. We were happy to find all this true but if you want excitement it's not the place for you.

Wondering if you ended up going to Breezes Jibacoa?? Any feedback as we're thinking of going in November. Any update on hurricane damage there? Thanks.

I changed my mind and we booked Mexico instead - we leave on Sat - so I am relieved that we chose Mexico. I am still considering Jibacoa for 2009.
