Hello,
What is the best way to book a trip to Aruba? We're traveling from NE USA and we can book directly through the hotel and airline or use a website like travelocity or expedia. It costs about $200 more to book directly, but I feel like my life will be easier if a problem arises.
Thanks.

Personally always book the where best value is
usually the travel websites also they have leverage with the
hotel/resort with problems.
www.betterbidding.com
for Priceline bidding usually works best for me up to 70% off.
www.insuremytrip.com always cheap wise for me...
Happy deciding,
I booked my airfare & hotel through Expedia and had a similar savings. There was no disadvantage to doing it that way.
After making ae booking through a third party, I always follow up with direct contact with the providers to confirm that theey have everything correct.
MCM Players choice tours was recommended not too long ago by poster PM. She used them for her trip to aruba and she said it was the best price. I imagine they do trips out of the NE of the US.
I would book through whoever gave the best price.
Thanks all!

i booked a super cheap expedia package last year and when AA started messing with the schedule (changing flight #'s and times) I was still able to call the airline directly and have them re-book my tix (for free, since they had changed my times by a couple of hours).
When prices are equal, I do book directly with airlines, however since most of the majors have a no-hassle, no questions, 24 hr cancellation policy.
