My wife and I will be in Bonaire this July. What's your memborable impressions there? What did you like best? We want to rent a car and snorkel on the best snorkeling beaches- which ones are the best for close to shore coral reefs and reef fish? What's the best inexpensive hotel to stay at? Please advise, and thank you. Bob at: Rsmcoping@nwohio.com

I had a great time in Bonaire (for purpose of
snorkling) but still need to go back. We rented a
regular car and they only let jeeps go into the
Washington Slaagbi Park that week (best snorkling
is said to be there at Playa Fungi and Slaagbai.)
We stayed at the Sunset Beach. Nice beach. But
next time I would stay at Sand Dollar (good boat
snorkling trips and better shore snorkling there).
We like snorkling at Nukove and the cove after that.
Go down dirt road by the oil tanks. Also, 1000 steps
was fun. Pink Beach wasn't very good snorkling.
Eat at Richard's. Best people and meals. Snorkling
Is good almost anywhere in front of the hotels too.
Have a great time.
We went to Bonaire in April 1997. Loved it!! Sand Dollar and Captain Don's are both good choices for hotel. Ask at your hotel about best snorkeling sites. You will be able to go to many since they are all easily accessible from the road. We did a mountain biking tour through Cycle Bonaire that took us all around the island. A good website is
www.interknowledge.com/bonaire. Have fun!
