Boating excursions from St Thomas
My wife and I are traveling to St Thomas in April and were wanting to spend one day on some kind of boating excursion, preferably to the BVI. Has anyone had any good, or bad, experiences with any of these excursions that would help us decide which one to take? Thanks for your help.

I highly recommend New Horizons Charters leaving from Red Hook in St. Thomas. We did this a few weeks ago and it was one of the highlights of the trip for me. New Horizona II is a power boat that takes you to several stops in the BVI's....The Baths, Mariana Cay, Jost van Dyke, White Bay. Drinks and snacks are served all day long. I believe the maximum is 15 people. The cost was $240 for the two of us. Crew was super friendly and informative...especially Linda. The day trip really made me want to go back and explore the BVI's next year.

I too recommend the New Horizons II. I also booked online - www.bookitvi.com - and saved the 10% also I think if you pay them the balance in cash you save a few $$. Just make sure you bring a waterproof camera with you so that when you swim ashore to the Baths you will have your camera to take beautiful pictures. Have fun! Susan

Are the excursions made up mostly of adults? We are going to St. Thomas with our kids (11 & 14) for their spring break in March and would love to do an excursion to the BVIs. Would the kids feel out of place and/or does the amount of drinking on the boats make the excursions unappropriate for children? Thanks for your help.
