Topping -- any info out there?
Blues and Avalon are informal and Bistro C is much more formal (men no jackets but no shorts, normally) The prices are close between Blues and Avalon with Blues slightly higher priced but better food and smaller and open-air over the water. New chef at Avalon in Jan.'06 brought it down several notches in my opinion.Bistro Clochard quite good but be prepared for a $125 tab with a drink and service charge.
No one tries LaRousse but it is really very good 4 of 5 dinners there. Chef/Owner a bit over-bearing but he spends time with locals. Make friends at the outset and you should have a very good dinner for 4100 with service and pretty good white house wine.
Need a reservation 2 days in advance and askfor second room but NOT near the kitchen.
