Anyone been to Blue Bay or the Palm Court on Orient Beach? Trying to decide which to pick. Both are around the same price, only difference is that the Blue Bay offers all-inc. for $260 more pp. Any suggestions appreciated. Also could stay at Mercure on Simpson, but heard beach is not as nice...
Thanks. Going end of August if anyone has any suggestions on that also...

My husband and I were at Blue Bay from 7/8 to 7/15. The resort was nice, but it is built on a hill. We stayed in the Saba building, but I would suggest the Aruba. The water is rough in front of the resort. There is a lot of seaweed, but they do clean it in front of the resort each day. The food was good; but it seemed that it was basically the same every night. We only ate at the buffet. If you stay at another resort and have to find dining, the taxi service is expensive. About $10 for a five minute ride; one way. The other end of the beach is a nude beach and occasionally someone walks up to Blue Bay, especially in the morning. Topless bathing at Blue Bay.
Rooms were large and kept clean. The bathrooms left something to be desired. If you are used to 110, it is not available. They told us at the desk you need a converter and an adapter. It is not very well lit at night, so you have to be careful when you are walking around the resort. My husband badly sprained his ankle the second day we were there. The people are not too friendly or helpful. When you are at the bar try a Miami Vice. Enjoy your trip.
Thanks for the info on Blue Bay. What didn't you like about the Saba bldg.? Is the Aruba closer to the beach? I want to decide my top choice of bldgs. to request. Don't want to be stuck out back far away from beach.
I WAS AT THE BLUE BAY IN JULY ,THE BEACH IS NICE BUT WHEN I WAS THERE THE WATER WAS QUITE ROUGH,NOT BAD ENOUGH TO STOP ME GOING IN.THE ROOMS WERE LARGE AND COMFORTABLE I HAD A BAY VIEW REALLY NICE.THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND VARIED THE STAFF WERE FRINDLY.ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENING WAS NOT THAT GOOD.THE DUTCH SIDE CAPITAL WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND GOLD WAS A REALLY,REALLY GOOD BUY,BUT YOU HAVE TO BARTER THEY EXPECT YOU TO CUT 50-60% OF THE FIRST PRICE THEY SAY .THE FRENCH SIDE ON THE OTHERHAND WAS ANYTHING BUT FRIENDLY ,THE PRICE IS THE PRICE THAT IS IT.ALL TRIPS WERE GROSSLY OVERPRICED AND MOST OF THE TIME DID NOT START FROM HOTEL AND YOU HAD TO GET TO STARTING POINT BY TAXI. WOULD RECOMMEND BLUE BAY AS A GOOD RELAXING HOLIDAY LOCATION IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NIGHT LIFE YOU WILL NEED TO RENT CAR $100 AMERICAN FOR 3 DAYS INCLUDING INSURANCE
