Can anyone tell me the best (least traffic) route from the Juliana Airport to Marigot via rental car? And does anyone know approximately how much a taxi would cost to Grande Case from the airport? Thanks for your advice.

Hi Geehoon
No question!
Go via Maho, Rhine Road, Cupecoy and Sandy Ground, and avoid Simpson Bay like the plague !
Even though currently there are significant road works just after the bridge at the entrance to Marigot itself, it is still a FAR quicker, and easier, route than via the infamous Simpson Bay.
If memory serves me correct, there are two routes you can take to Marigot - you can go RIGHT or LEFT when you leave the airport as you have to go around Simpson Bay Lagoon. Not sure if one route is any better than the other, they are just different.
I'll defer to DavidSXM - he's the resident expert.
Hi Geehoon
I forgot to mention that a shared taxi from the airport to Grand Case should cost around $30 plus tip.
It is worthwhile checking with the despatcher first however.
If you want the taxi to yourselves, it will cost more, but you will get to your destination far more quickly.
The despatchers have a habit of getting people to share taxis in order to maximize the earning, but you will probably very likely find your vehicle stopping at various other places en-route - possibly even going via Simpson Bay - and it can take a long time for some people to exit, unload their luggage, and pay the driver !
Thank you DavidSXM!
