Best resorts for girls weekend in May

We are two single females seeking information on the best resort to visit for a girls weekend in May. We will be leaving from Dallas, Texas on May 26th. It will be a short weekend trip. We just want to get away for a quick trip and exhale. We prefer an AI resort.

It would help to have a budget and more of what you are looking for. Do you want entertainment and nightly activities??? Do you prefer beach or pool??
I would think Mexico's Riviera Maya area would be perfect. Lots of great AI resorts.

Your best best for short flights would be Mexico (Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel) with hotels in a range of prices. Dominican Republic has great hotels based on every budget. Think about Jamaica also. Let me know if you need recommendations for hotels in any of the destinations.

The Royal Playa del Carmen. Adult's only, but not geared to just couples like many of the adults only resorts. All inclusive and a 5 minute walk to restuarants, bars, shopping and entertainment.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at all the options. We are wanting entertainment and nightly activities. We are both in our late 30's and mid 40's so we really want to stay away from a young crowd. Any specific suggestions on a $1,000 budget each? Hotel recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have read the reviews but......
