Started planning for a visit in May or Jun 2010 but just read the following:
"Bermuda will have shed 1,000 jobs by the end of the year and that figure could double by the end of 2010"
Just wondering how this will impact the services area or if it's more construction related.
Anyway still making calls and comparing places.. Might be asking for a little help shortly if i can't find an existing topic.....

Someone sent me this:
The Saudi prince who owns Elbow Beach is "evaluating his options" over the future of the hotel. But persistent rumours that the hotel is closing for renovations have been quashed with managers saying: "it's business as usual at the moment."
As this is one of the places we are thinking about im kinda of concerned. Any thoughts??
Managers at Elbow Beach today announced the closure of its main hotel on November 30 - which could stay empty for several years.
I forgot to add - check out the Royal Gazette website for stories.,
Sad to see the changes, but Bermuda will still be a wonderful destination for a May or June 2010 trip. Consider the Reefs, Cambridge Beaches, Pompano, or Tucker's Point, all would be excellent choices.
I also am looking at the Newstead Belmont. Has there been any other reports of other places cutting staff?
I am not aware of any other announcements, but check the Royal Gazette regularly.
The Newstead is gorgeous. I am looking forward to trying their restaurant when I visit Bermuda in December.
