Bermuda Honeymoon
My fiancee and I are considering several Bermuda Resorts for our honeymoon next June. We want a romantic location with good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a decent beach (with snorkeling). We don't really care about nightlife. Some type of health club would be a plus, since we both enjoy exercise. So far I have looked into Pompano, Surf Side, and The Reefs. Which of these three would you recommend? Are there others I should consider? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Bill

Hi,
I stayed at the Pompano this past August and thought it was very romantic. The location was a little far from Hamilton & the other hotels but if you are not concerned about nightlife it doesn't matter.
We went with the dine around plan & the food was good, a great menu every night.
They also I have a nice gym that has great views.
Have also heard great things about the Reefs. Im sure you can't go wrong with either one.
Have fun

A true health club at a Bermuda resort is hard to come by. Reefs had a really small workout room. You might want to look at the bigger resorts like Sonesta, Fairmont, and Elbow Beach. Sonesta has a nice spa and gym and tennis facilities.

Reefs did not have snorkeling right off the beach the time of year we were there (August).

I would also recommend that you look into Cambridge Beaches. My husband and I stayed there and really liked the atmosphere, service, food, etc. They have a great spa/health club with indoor pool. Their outdoor pool area was also nice.

There are several small beaches on the property. Nothing like the beaches on the south shore, but there was one small cove beach that we liked ... much of the time we had the beach to ourselves. There are day trips that the tour desk at hotel will arrange, i.e., sailing, snorkeling, etc. We liked that each of these only had a small number of people and left from the dock right next to the resort that we could walk over to. Also, they provide a ferry a few mornings and Friday evening into Hamilton. You can also rent motorbikes right at the resort.

I think it would be a nice place for a honeymoon. They only downfall is that its location is a bit more remote on the western side of the island, so it can get a bit pricey for taking cabs to to dinner depending on where you are going. (There is a dine-around option that includes dinners at some of the other resorts, although we had excellent dinners right there.)

If you do a search on this sight you will find more information.
