My wife, 1 year old son, and I are planning a vacation to the Caribbean in late Sept.
Our wishlist is as follows:
- 1 bedroom beachfront villa / cottage, ideally facing the ocean and with a plunge pool
- part of a resort with restaurants, activities, etc. (not a rental property)
- great beach and calm waters
I've found that Parrot Cay resort in the Turks and Caicos pretty much meets every single one of our requirements, the problem is that their 1-bedroom beachfront villas are $1800 per night....and that's a 40% discount off their in-season rate!
We have stayed at the Westin in St. John before, beautiful villas, we paid around $250 per night (priceline), but those villas are not on the beach.
I can see us spending as much as $500 to even $700 per night, does anyone know if there are other options less pricey than Parrot Cay?
Thanks in advance for any help or insight!
Beachfront Cottage Resort (Parrot Cay alternatives)?

Although pricey, Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda might work for you.
There's also an AI in Provo (Turks and Caicos) called Veranda that has some villas with private plunge pools and part of a resort.
You will find most of what you're looking for will be on the pricey side, that real estate is expensive!
Thanks for the suggestions! LDB looks like a good option (although pricey as you say).
Any other suggestions from folks would be much appreciated!
Caneel Bay if you stay in the Scott beach rooms are right on the beach. But Parrot Key is far more on the luxury side though LDB and Caneel have more to offer. Also, in Sept. you are chancing tropical storms in any of those three places but you will likely have 5-7 degrees warmer temperatures in the Virgin islands. You could find yourself at Parrot with a 1/2 or less full houise where you are more likely to have more folks at the other two places but kiely not morre thsn 75% occupancy because of the iffy weather and kids are back in school.
pavilionsandpools.com
cheapest with private plunge pools I have ever stayed at
if it is simply about price point rooms were not that great.
caneelbay.com littledixbay.com a tonne better though more $$$
Anse Chastenet jademountain.com has great options too my fav.
Personal fav private pool no plunge pool but best beach
runawayhill.com or pinksandsresort.com PINK perfect beach
Very Picturesque closer to US with great diving/snorkel
Happy Travels!
Thanks everyone for all the fantastic suggestions. We finally booked at the Fairmont in Barbados, no plunge pool but beachfront, ground level unit that opens up right to the beach. FYI, Expedia had a great deal at 361 US per night.
Thanks again!
