Beaches in the Bahamas? Will we be safe? To many Vendors?
My fiance and I are thinking about honeymooning in the Bahamas in 7/99.. We're looking at an all inclusive resorts with beautiful beaches, the only problem is, if we decide not to go with an all inclusive resort, we'll stay in a nice hotel instead. Are the beaches safe either way? Will we be bothered endlessly by vendors and hagglers? Any opinions and advise is welcome! Also, can anyone tell me of a great place in the bahamas where snorkling is included? Thanks!

Where in the Bahamas are you looking at? <BR> <BR>Out islands have no vendors! <BR> <BR>As for Nassau, we stayed at Club Med Paradise Island several times and were approached by a vendor TWICE in all our visits and it was no big deal. You won't be bothered by vendors too much at Atlantis, but you will be bothered by lots of screaming kids. I can't comment on Cable Beach. <BR> <BR>Best all-inclusive in the Bahamas we stayed at is Club Med Columbus Isle. It is spectacular and all the great things you hear about it are true. Snorkeling and scuba included in the price. Great honeymoon spot.

Hi. In reply to your message my wife and I have been to Nassau area twice. The first time we stayed at Cable beach at Crystal Palace. Very nice but other hotels there nice too (some inclusive). The vendors there are very polite and not demanding, they will take a no,but they will circulate through the area now and then. We stayed at the B.C. last time and there were no vendors as its a basic private beach. Unfortunaely lots of renos now and It's supposed to be a little messy. <BR> As for you snorlelling there are spots all around and places to go. A very good day trip and tour is the Robinson Crusoe tour. A day on a small island with lunch and nice snorkelling. The waters are beautiful and clear if no rough weather has come in. There are othe tours for snorkelling and shallow scuba dives. Try those,lessons usually are given. Anyway I'll try to answer more of your quwstions later as we are going down again in March. This advise is for ANYWHERE in the Caribbean -- if you have long hair, get it braided the first day, so people will leave you alone! I don't remember being bothered by vendors in Bahamas, but my daughter and her friends were three years ago. They were about 18-19 and didn't really know that if you say no nicely, it isn't offensive to the vendor at all, and they will leave you alone!
