Barbados in Jan - please help me decide on housing options

Jump to last reply

Hi All - I am trying to decide between 2 homestays on Airbnb in Barbados for a quick trip the second week of January.

1. Neither homestay has Air conditioning. Is it really hot at night around this time of year?
2. I am trying to decide whether to make the trip at all - maybe go when I I can splurge at nice resorts instead of homestays.
3. I want to rest by the beach, relax. No partying. Just time to myself. Swimming (I know the West Coast is better for this), walking along the shore.
4. Please help me decide between these 2 homestays -
Choice A - in Christchurch, walking distance to Zed's surfing school - 6 min busride to Miami Beach, 15 min bus to Accra Beach, 35 min bus to Sandy Lane. Nice reviews, but No Air conditioning.
Choice B in Fitts Village, St. James. It is less expensive and price includes breakfast, but - it seems to be far from the airport, and thus, I will have to get a cab (am on a budget). I can't do bus for the airport trip, since the flight would arrive at midnight, and my return would be at 8 AM (meaning I should leave for the airport around 6 AM).
5. I may end up deciding on another destination. I went to Aruba recently and had a wonderful time staying at a wonderful B&B (Wonders) - with great amenities, air conditioning, excellent breakfasts, free airport transfers, and the bus ride to the beach was quick and cheap. Had a great time while spending very little. Maybe it is not as easy to do this in Barbados.

Would appreciate your insight.
