barbados advoce for family villa trip
Barbados Advice for family.
I was planning another trip to Jamaica where I stayed at a villa at My Silversands. I loved it. Had a housekeeper and cook so we could relax and play with the kids. Our kids are 3,5,7 btw
My question is where to really begin in I want to rent a villa in barbados for a week or two. I don't mind doing some cooking but having options like dinners cooked would be nice etc.. with a family we don't need the night life.. just need a clean place, warm weather and a pool if possible for the kids.
What's a good area of Barbados for that. Anyone rent a villa before they can recommend. We are trying to do t his on a budget so we can stretch it to two weeks. So we don't mind a lower key villa to save money.
On other hand my siblings and their families may want to go so perhaps we may need a massive size villa for over 15 people lol..
Sigh. Where to start
Thanks

http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/barbados/
VRBO
Homeaway
etc
I've not rented a villa myself, but know people who have rented apartments and have been very happy with it, esp for a budget holiday.
St James Parish which is on the west coast, is the best area of Barbados.

hope it helps
most barbados rental houses come with staff. good beaches to be on are paynes, mullins or gibbs.

Wondering if anyone know a villa community where you can rent 2 or 3 villas by each other. They have that in Jamaica where I rented it before. It seems to be cheaper to have 2-3 smaller villas as supposed to one massive one.

Have you tried airbnb.com ?
they have plenty of options and some of the owners also can arrange for a cook/housekeeper to do general cleaning should you want one.
taking a catamaran cruise could also be a fun experience for the kids.
The Calabaza sailing cruise seems to be getting positive
reviews.
You can relax with a rum punch while the kids snorkel and swim with turtles (they also take free underwater pictures!)
And if you go with your extended family then you can have the boat to yourselves

Deinitely go to VRB) and home away online, perhaps consider a villa on Brighton Beach in the parish of St. Michael , this area on the west coast , close to Bridgetown, Brighton beach is a beautiful beach, more local and less commercial than most.
However there are some lovely beach houses and cottages on the beach, that come staffed or un staffed depending on your requirement, and because it is on a less famed " touristy beach" you can get nice accommodation for a reasonable price on the beach.
Hope this helps...
