Getting Around:
We decided not to rent a car so we were dependent on the taxis and "buses". Both the taxis and buses were really vans. The taxi's had the taxi sign on top and I believe a white license plate. The buses have blue license plates and decals on the front and back with the route number. There are a number of bus stops along Seven Mile Beach. The bus drivers also honk when they see people walking along the street, so you can flag down a bus anywhere. The fare for the buses along Seven Mile Beach is $2US per person for any distance. They have also routes with larger vehicles traveling to Bodden ($2US), East End ($3.25US) and North Side ($4.50). We were even able to take a bus to the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens via the North Side bus from the Georgetown bus terminal near the library. We paid a little extra to be let off at the ticket booth which is quite a hike from the road. That ride cost $12.50 for the two of us from town. We ended up getting a ride back from a friendly couple so we can't vouch for how easy it is to get a bus back to town. It is a cheaper way to get there than renting a car or taking a tour, but you have to rely on a bus schedule which may not necessarily run very frequently. The North Side route is supposed to run every hour. As far as taxi's go, from Sunshine Suites the rides one-way to the airport was $15US, to The Treehouse restaurant was $10US, to Georgetown I think cost $12.50US and to Ristorante Pappagallo restaurant directions cost us $15.50US. By the way Sunshine Suites is relatively new so you may need to tell the taxi driver that it is across from the Westin.
