Dear Roger,
We stayed at Avila Beach a couple of years ago. The hotel is GREAT, wonderful beach, great layout, good service... We stayed in one of the suites way at one end, very luxurious with (almost) a private small beach. The reason we did not go back was that we did not like the surroundings so much, at one point some locals came to "our" beach and started cleaning fish.... But you certainly can't go wrong with this hotel!
Hi Roger,
I agree with Sally. The hotel is great, two nice restaurants and a lovely beach. No pool though. I would never recommend walking from the hotel to other places. I used to live in Curacao and I was robbed a block from the hotel on a afternoon. Rent a car, that way you will be able to explore the rest of the island too.
Thank you for the info.
I am a little worried about the don't walk from the hotel comments.
We usually do a lot of walking around.
Is the area around the hotel that bad?
Thanks
