Aruba - To do and stay?

My fiancé and I just booked our flights to Aruba for our honeymoon. We’re going for eight days at the end of August/beginning of September. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay and fun things to do?

So much to do in Aruba. Eagle Beach is quieter and bigger. Beaches are less crowded. We stay in Palm Beach where the beach is more crowded but we don't mind, and it is convenient to all the shops and restaurants. We always rent a car with Tropic so we can go to other beaches. There are so many great restaurants, some on the beach where you can watch the sunset. Bugaloe Beach Bar is great - inexpensive drinks and food. We bring our own snorkel gear. There are many websites with lots of information and other websites. Check out trip reports and reviews of restaurants. and visit their websites to get a feel if it is something you like. Where you stay is such a personal preference. The Hyatt is beautiful on Palm Beach and I know people that love Costa Linda on Eagle Beach and Marriott and Westin on Palm Beach. I definitely would not go all inclusive though. Too many restaurants to explore in Aruba. El Gaucho, Passions, Flying Fishbone, Madame Jeannette's are among are favorites. Great choice of an island for your honeymoon, especially that time of year. Aruba is outside the hurricane belt so you are pretty much guaranteed great weather. Have Fun!!

Highly recommend a snorkeling trip. We really like Pelican, right on Palm Beach. they take you out on a catamaran and do 2 or 3 stops and include an open bar and lunch.

Look at DePalm.com for things to do.

Also, catamaran trip/snorkeling with MiDushi, Tranquillo, Octopus, Black Pearl, Red Sail

Dinner Cruises with Red Sail, De Palm

Island jeep tour with ABC

Bar hopping tour with the Kukoo Kunuku Bus

Shopping either Downtown or Palm Beach area.

The Raddison gets good reviews on Palm Beach. Look on their website as they sometimes offer food and beverage credits.

On Eagle Beach, the Bucuti gets good reviews.

my husband and I love the Tamarijn, it's in the low-rise section and is AI, we have stayed there three times and will be staying there the next time too, awesome beach, never crowded like the high-rise section. You should rent a jeep wrangler (do it now) and explore the other side of the island, it's like another world, one can't not go there and say they have been to Aruba, that is the 'real' Aruba. There are many snorkeling sites too, or take a snorkeling trip. And don't miss Charlie's Bar, it's down by the oil refineries, very cool place, bring something from home to hang up there.

If you want true adventure try one of the jeep tours. ABC jeep tour is rugged and a trip you more than likely will never forget. It will take you where a car could never go. You need to wear a seat belt in the jeep! Not for the faint of heart, but fun time. check it out. Madamn jeanettes is my favorite restaurants. We usually try and go twice while in Aruba. Aqua Grill is great for sea food. Mambo beach is next to the Marriot and has a great ambiance sitting on the beach feet in the sand, torches, very romantic. (after all this is your honeymoon.) We are leaving next month, June 16-23rd. WE are staying at the Divi Links resort which also has a great restaurant called "windows on the green." I like that end as it is more quiet. The grounds are gorgeous at this resort. Every room is on the golf course. or the phoenix is also gorgeous on the beach. Both are divi resorts. You might want to go up to the lighthouse for the view and a romantic dinner although the food when I was there was mediocre but the view makes up for it. Enjoy Aruba and congrats to you.
