i have read most of the posts on this so far, so before anyone tries to talk us out of aruba we are set on that for our oct honeymoon<BR>could you tell us which is the better, nicer etc hotel between radisson and hyatt<BR>and reasons why , we want to book this weekend and keep hearing conflicting things thanks so much

Hi Elizabeth. Both hotels are on par with each other and you won't go wrong with either. I stayed at the Radisson in September and loved it! the gounds are gorgeous...waterfalls and parrots,and there is a beautiful zero-entry pool (though we never wen in because the caribbean was much nicer than any pool!). The beach is gorgeous and clean with little cabanas to sit under. They will bring you food and drinks right to the beach...they make the best pina colada I have ever had! There is a neat little restaurant/bar on the edge of the beach where we often at lunch. And there is a dock bar at the end of the DePalm Pier (bwtween the Radisson and another hotel). This is a great place to watch the sunset. The rooms are wonderful...clean and very tastefully decorated. The staff is extremely accomodating...friendly, courteous. They will bend over backwards to make you are happy. The Radisson recently underwent $55 million in renovations and the results are terrific.<BR><BR>We ate dinner at the Hyatt one night and it looked very nice as well. There seemed to be a greater selection of restaurants at the Hyatt.<BR><BR>Have a great honeymoon!

I haven't been to either in a few years, but I will tell you one thing for sure. As a very frequent worldwide traveller I am very aware that Hyatt and Radisson are in entirely different leagues as far as the attention to service and detail which each provides.<BR>Hyatt is a world class business hotel chain, which happens to own/operate some resorts here and there. Service oriented and geared toward maximizing client loyalty. Is it the Four Seasosn? No. But it doesn't cost as much either.<BR><BR>Radisson is very much a hit and miss operation. They have some decent hotels, but I have never stayed at an outstanding Radisson. In fact, the Aruba property is one of their best properties. But overall the company runs a disappointing operation in my experience.<BR><BR>Just to maximize predictability and to have the best service possible for a honeymoon, I'd vote for Hyatt. I've stayed at the Hyatt Aruba and it was exactly what I expected it to be. <BR>Nothing worse than trying a new place and not having your expectations met.

I agree that most Radisson hotels are not on par with Hyatt but the Radisson Aruba will not disappoint. I am very particular and since I just stayed there 4 months, I can almost guarantee that Elizabeth's expectations will be met. Like I said she can't go wron with either choice, but you shouldn't base this hotel on others with the same name. it is in a class by itself. And as far as things not associated with the hotel name, I feel that the Radisson has a nice beach overall. And the Hyatt's grounds can't compare.

I too was in Aruba in September and stayed at the Radisson. I would say it is a coin toss in terms of which is better. The two are the premiere properties on the island. Some things to consider...<BR><BR>-The Radisson has nicer rooms and the grounds are more spacious/spread out.<BR>-The Radisson has a slightly nicer location on the beach.<BR>-You don't feel like you are at a chain hotel when you are there.<BR><BR>-The Hyatt has a nicer pool in my opinion. It is multi-leveled and includes a swim up bar right in the pool.<BR>-The Hyatt has a nicer/bigger/busier casino.<BR>-The Hyatt is better for nightlife. It seems more people are around at the bars and casino. <BR>-The Hyatt had more of a luxury hotel feel. The porches to the rooms are smaller and the rooms at the Radisson are nicer.<BR>-The Hyatt appeared to have more kids around at the time I visited.<BR><BR>Both of the hotels have great food (Brunch at the Hyatt is a must) and you can't go wrong with either. If I were to return I would stay at the Radisson again however. All the hotels are in a strip so we visited them all every night. Check out the Allegro's casino!<BR>

The grounds at the Radisson are gorgeous--very tropical. You can easily walk between several hi-rise hotels--there is not that much distance so you can't go wrong staying at either hotel. <BR>Many restaurants are also in the Palm Beach area that you can walk to. <BR>We will be staying at the Radisson in March, our 8th trip to Aruba.<BR>Good luck.

Hello. We stayed at the Hyatt in Aruba in Oct. For our honeymoon. It was wonderful. Service was great, conciere was outstanding, we had reservations at Papimentos and got back from a tour late, Coral took care of us big time. Then procrastonaters that we are we waited till the day we were leaving to go to a 1-hour photo, the machine was broken. We went to Coral explained the situation and asked if we left the film with her and money for mailing it if she would have it developed. She maid 2 phone calls and was able to get our developed pictures back to us before we left.<BR> Electric lemonades at the swim up bar are a must. We met a couple that was staying at the Radisson. So we visited each other quite often. The Radisson is beautiful. I loved the grounds and the breakfast buffet at the Hyatt, as well as the service. True you cannot sit out on the balcony, but we did get great pictures from standing out on it.<BR> I know the Hyatt had pillowtop mattresses and those were wonderful!!! If money was no object I'd go back to the Hyatt. However since the Radisson seemed really nice so if money were an issue I'd stay at the Radisson in a heartbeat to get back to Aruba. But my favorite will always be room 835 at the Hyatt in Aruba.
